The included Shun knife block is made from laminated bamboo which won’t shrink or swell as other hardwoods do. This block includes 5 open slots beyond the pieces included in the set, allowing you to augment your Shun knife collection as you go.

Shun Classic Series knives use blades comprised of 68 layers of Shun’s proprietary VG-MAX steel, which are each then clad in Damascus steel for a mottled pattern that resembles a fine wood grain. The result is a set of contemporary knives with eye-catching looks which resist corrosion and dulling, and won’t break under normal use.
