Wusthof Ikon Blackwood 8″ Bread Knife

The Wusthof IKON 8″ bread knife is made from a special steel alloy for a low-maintenance blade that is strong, flexible, and extremely sharp. This non-electric bread knife has a long serrated edge to gently saw through fresh bread without breaking or crushing it. At just under 8″ in length, the Wusthof bread knife is long enough to slice through entire loaves and baguettes widthwise. This knife is also handy for cutting cakes without leaving a crumbly mess. With a specially designed blade using Precision Edge Technology creates an extra-sharp blade that is tempered to 58° Rockwell, and made to retain its edge longer than average blades.

Each knife in the Wusthof IKON cutlery line starts out as a single piece of carbon steel which is forged into a full-tang knife with a balanced weight and ergonomic handle. The blade is tempered and sharpened many times before the tang is inset with a handle of African Blackwood, also called Grenadill. This exotic hardwood is both technically and aesthetically superior to ebony wood in every way, providing a comfortable grip that won’t be damaged by changing humidity levels and temperature.
